Welcome to the first official week of the CREATIVE HUSTLE TOUR TAKEOVER, here on #OTDHipHop blog. EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK, I’ll be droppin’ new music, videos, and interviews EXCLUSIVELY from HAWAII HIP HOP and other local creative minds.
To kick us off, I got to catch up with Kaneohe native - KOINS, as he continues to promote his new album, his upcoming opening gig for Watsky at The Republik (Saturday, Dec. 10th), and the Creative Hustle Tour (Oahu Segment). 24-year old Koins is no stranger to the local music scene, as one of the emcees from the ‘Broke Mokes,’ and recently dropped his first solo album, Familiar Faces. Koins released his album’s single/music video “Always Rains” a few months ago, introducing his matured sound and visual appeal as a solo artist. This past weekend, he hosted his own music video release party at About The Goods (ATG), for the visuals for “These Lines” (ft. Josh F).
Along with all his other music related projects as a solo artist and with his group, Koins remains focused on his #CreativeHustle. Regarding the tour, he states that he is very proud and stoked that a team of Big Island artists are taking on this endeavor. “I was raised in Puna, so I have love for all Big Isle. For years, I've heard people say they wanted to do this but nobody ever really did. It’'s dope that BI artists are taking it there own hands and making it happen. That's how you garner respect!” said Koins.
Koins will be performing live as one of the co-headliners for the Creative Hustle Tour’s first Oahu show on Friday, January 20, 2016 at NextDoor.
