Aloha and Kumusta OTDHipHop fam and supporters!
Today we have 3 special guests on our platform for this week’s #TrackTuesday.
We have 3 emcees representing the region of Mindanao, in the southern Philippines. As you probably know, I went on tour to Davao City back in February, and it was incredible connecting with different artists and cultures. With that said, today we’ll be reviewing a new song called “Robitu$$in” by Kid Boujee, Rob the Goat, and Gregory Neil. While on tour, I met each of these guys and was personally impressed by all of their styles.
Check out today’s song review below:
First off, the beat choice is very modern and gives me Madeintyo type of sound. Shouts out to Stunnah Beatz on production! The vibe of the song seems pretty light, definitely gives me a summertime vibe. I think the hook is really catchy and I’ve honestly been listening to the track while driving around lately. I like that each of the artists have a distinct flow and each of them rap in English as well as different Filipino dialects. I actually think their the first bilingual artists on our platform!
Also, the cover art and the motion art that accompany the song are eye-catching.
The hip hop scene in the Philippines is very popular and visiting Davao was eye-opening to me simply by witnessing the number of people that attend and participate in local shows and events. You can catch clips of Kid Boujee, Rob the Goat, and Gregory Neil on my tour vlog. I also interviewed Kid Boujee as part of the Davao City Artist Spotlight.
