In no particular order, these were my favorite and most listened-to albums of 2015.
Funk Volume is no more. Hopsin has left the label. Apparently Dizzy Wright is still being managed by Dame Ritter. On the bright side, Dizzy is on The Incredible True Story tour with Logic. I feel like I'm a new Dizzy fan, I didn't really start listening to him until last year. I've been hooked on him since. The Growing Process is relatable in its content with smooth vibes that Dizzy is known for. I had to have him on this list.
I've been a fan of Logic for about 2 years now. I especially like The Incredible Story because it's different from what he's released before. I really respect the entire process it took, especially seeing all the actual instruments that were used to produce the songs. I watched nearly every vlog and media regarding this album and I'm glad to have it in my possession.
I'm not gonna lie, I hated D-Pryde when he first came out. But I could never deny that the kid can spit. Since he came onto the rap scene as a teen, he has grown up into a seemingly different and much more mature young man...And tbh I think it's kinda sexy, especially cause he's a pinoy like me. As a fan, I also saw how challenging this project was because of he lost his mother to cancer around the same time Plan A was being created. Shouts out to Pryde.
I discovered Asha'a Masterbait EP through Team Backpack's Soundcloud feed. It was released in the early Fall, a lot of the content and sound resonated with me as a fellow female artist as well as the college campus vibes. I'll be talking more about Asha in the VERY near future.
