So it's my birthday month and I'm excited to turn 26! Shouts out all the Virgos out here!! (& it's all good if you're not into that but let me live. Lol.) Honestly I just wanted to take a minute and reflect on this past year of my life. Since my college graduation last December, I feel like stuff has been going nonstop..from music to work to building a business and still trying to have a solid home and family life; it can get overwhelming. My girlfriend and I had a good time during our month in the Philippines this past summer, but still it didn't seem long enough. My family and I also went to Molokai for a weekend getaway in July, which was great...but again, not long enough.
So I'm sitting here on my laptop at midnight constantly asking myself, "What's my purpose in life?"
As a recent college grad and young woman in my 20s, I always get asked "So what are you trying to do?"
Well in public, my answer depends on who asks. But since we're getting real intimate right now, Ima tell you..
The truth is - I want to do all I can for as long as I can.
As a marketing major and avid-podcast-watcher and even as a rapper, I'm taught to find a niche and style and stick to it. I totally get that. But I'm also understanding that I'm human and that I want to continuously grow and change, along with my goals and desires. Not to be cliche, but the core of me is in my lyrics and music and I believe that part of me is a huge vessel to reach others. I definitely see myself having a career in music and that part is hella important to me, but I also see myself in a lot of different career paths too, you feel me?
So honestly, I don't need much to stay motivated towards all my goals because of the satisfaction and passion that I feel when I do what allows me to grow - whether it be in music, marketing, media, entertainment, motivational speaking, etc ('cause honestly the list goes on). I hope you all seek and find your purpose and that you at least give it a try...CHEE!!
Im gonna be posting more of these "Thursday Thoughts" with me just babbling or venting. Lol. Let me know what yall think.
Here's a track for some tonight's vibes -
