Good morning OTDHipHop fam!
Shouts out to all the artists that have been submitting their music and content, we have LOTS to share. Today I have the pleasure of reviewing a new track by Lee-O, a hip hop artist and producer currently based in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Check out our review of his song “Amara La Negra,” below:
First off, shouts out CashMoneyAP on production! Personally, I’m a big fan of his beats and instrumentals. Lee-O comes in hard with the Spanish hook, and I dig his clear vocals with the clever and comical barz. I don’t really know what he says in Spanish but his flow is hella swaggy and confident throughout the track! Lol. It has an upbeat trap vibe, something I could hear in the club or blast in my car. Overall, I dig the track and I’d be down to listen to it on other streaming platforms outside of Soundcloud. Also, go google “Amara La Negra.” Lol.
“The song is inspired by a Dominican American Artist by the name of Amara La Negro, who is a known Latin Artist based in Miama, FL. She has made a lot of controversy in the media with her activism for Afro Latinos a community that is often underrepresented in media but yet historically played a major contribution to the Latin Culture globally from food, religion, dance and music. I wanted to make a song that uplifts the black women in the Latin community.” - Lee-O
